It has a nice elastic and metal snap closure that will keep receipts or notes inside and a pencil that won’t fall out.
The cover is made with an exterior cotton fabric, structured interfacing and a lining fabric. The fabric has been washed and color-set; if needed, I suggest hand-washing and lay flat to dry. Iron if needed.
